The Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) co-op scholarship program is regarded as one of Australia's leading IT programs.

The main information technology course at UTS is the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice (BScIT DipITProfPrac), which has nothing to do with science. There is also a degree in games development and a range of combined degrees.

You can combine a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with business, international studies or law. Students apply separately to undertake the industrial experience with the DipITProfPrac in these courses.

You can undertake industrial experience. From 2011, local Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students will undertake the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice as part of their course. Students in the Bachelor of Science in Games Development, combined degrees and the UTS: Science Bachelor of Mathematics and Computing may undertake the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice as an additional year.

A separate one-year, full-time honours program offers outstanding graduates the opportunity to pursue advanced work by completing an honours project.
