Groupware Applications for Electronic Commerce

Who Should Attend

People who are setting up applications that use groupware or Intranet/Internet/WWW technologies, eg. consultants, government and industry managers, business analysts, team leaders, system designers, designers of Interactive websites.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of how to use personal computers. No prior knowledge of the Internet or World Wide Web is needed.

Course Objectives

The course will cover use of groupware and WWW technologies in developing distributed business applications. It will describe ways to choose and use groupware technologies for business advantage, including ways to extend systems to clients and to set up business alliances and trends to virtual organizations. On completion attendees will have an understanding of the kinds of technologies now becoming available and ways to choose and implement the best technology for their business needs. A functional description of alternate technical implementations will be given, together with outlines of how to choose and integrate with databases, and adapt the technologies to meet business requirements.
