C09019 Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Information Technology v4

This course prepares you for postgraduate research degrees or for a career in research. Traditionally, most research has been carried out by universities and dedicated research organisations. Currently, most IT companies recognise that innovation and the research that supports it, are vital to their success. An Honours degree in IT from UTS prepares you for a leading role in industry relevant research, linking the university and industry.

The one-year Honours degree may be taken at the end of an undergraduate degree, or at some later stage. It gives a student the opportunity to study an area of knowledge in depth under expert supervision. It provides the research skills needed to go on to a higher degree, such as a Master in Science (by Thesis) or a doctorate. It also provides the skills and experience needed to work on a research project in industry.

More information about the Honours program can be found at the BScIT (Hons) course page and in the UTS Handbook.
